I’m not quite sure what these are called, but all the houses on my block have them on the outside of their second story.
I’ve been meaning to look it up in the architectural digest or historical sites to see what they all mean. My house has a medallion, almost sunburst in design and a decorative urn! Excessive, definitely dated, but delightful, nonetheless.
